ABOUT ME

Professional expertise.
Genuine compassion.

Thomes Buchanan, licensed therapist and owner of She Talks Therapy, smiling against a lavender background

I’m Thomes Buchanan, a licensed therapist practicing across Alabama, Texas, and Ohio. I specialize in supporting neurodivergent individuals, people managing anxiety or depression, and those navigating relationship concerns, self-esteem challenges, or major life transitions.

My approach is client-centered, collaborative, strengths-based, and culturally responsive. I draw from evidence-based practices—including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and solution-focused strategies—while tailoring each session to your goals, experiences, and needs.

I understand that mental health is connected to everyday life. Whether you are balancing school, work, relationships, pregnancy, divorce, young adulthood, or personal transformation, our work can include practical strategies that support healing, resilience, and meaningful change.

I create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where you can be fully yourself. Therapy is a partnership: together, we will identify meaningful goals, explore new perspectives, and build on the strengths you already carry.

You are not alone. We will move at a pace that feels right for you.

Relationship concerns

I’ve been seeing Thomes for the past few weeks, and she has been incredible. She’s attentive, supportive, and insightful, helping both myself and my husband, individually and as a couple, navigate complex emotions, past trauma, and relationship challenges. I genuinely look forward to our sessions and always leave feeling lighter, happier, and more positive. Her guidance makes each session feel tailored to our needs, and her support has been empowering and transformative for us both.
